How Switching to VoIP Saves you Money on Your Phone Bill

How Switching to VoIP Saves you Money on Your Phone Bill

Now you have finally made the decision about changing to a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone system for your business, the installation is complete and you are up and running. Have you considered how this will change the way that you communicate with your employees and customers? The only change that will be apparent is the reduction in your communication costs.
You have probably already got the IP telephone, which really looks no different to the traditional phone. But instead of being routed through the traditional telephone services you now have a system which routes the telephone calls through your high speed internet broadband connection. You are not required to sit in front of a pc in order to make and receive calls, most VoIP systems will work exactly as your previous telephone system did - the main difference is that your VoIP system will cost much less to run and maintain. Most people are not really interested in the technology that makes the VoIP systems work; they just need to know that it does!

Did you know that you can have two separate phone systems at your business premises or even in your home? Both systems can be used simultaneously if you feel the need to keep a back up until you are comfortable with the fact that a VoIP system can provide all the things that you are used to.

With your new VoIP system you will use a high speed internet broadband connection to make and receive your calls. You will, most probably, still have access to all the features of your traditional telephone system such as call waiting, caller ID, conference calls, automatic redial etc. So, for most users there will be no visible difference to the way they communicate.

One of the great benefits of the VoIP telephone systems is that, wherever you can access a high speed broadband connection, you will be able to use your VoIP service just as if you were in your office.

Will there be a time in the future when everyone will be utilizing the power of the internet and one of the VoIP systems to deal with all communications? It is possible but, as with any new technology, it will take time and education before regular people can become knowledgeable and comfortable enough with the technology involved. Remember the size of the first computer? It filled a whole room, and that was only a few decades ago, people of that era would never have imagined the high percentage of domestic households who have their very own computer today.

So who knows how the VoIP telephone systems will develop in the future. They may just provide the man in the street with an easy and convenient way to communicate with anyone from anywhere in the world and all for next to nothing.
