Voice over Internet Protocol, or "Voip", is a phone service available for over the internet. If a person has an internet connection, Voip can be used in place of phone services that one may already have. Voip is capable of providing one with free calls, by bypassing related charges and phone companies. Voip is very practical for many businesses, especially if the businesses make large amounts of international and national phone calls. Voip is highly economical and saves you large sums of money, even for the everyday person. Voip is worldwide, and can be used by anyone, anywhere. A special feature that the program also allows is, you can transfer to the call to any user, no matter where the call originated from. Voip also offers all the same features as your standard home phone service provider, such as call transfer, call filtering conference calls, and of course call waiting. If you like to attach messages to email, you can do that too with this program. There are three dif ferent ways to utilize Voip. You can use this program as simple as computer to computer. If you choose to use this method, all you will need is speakers, microphone and a sound card. The next method you can use is using an ethernet cord, allowing you to connect your phone directly to a computer. The third method is using a ATA, or a "analogue telphone adaptor"; this method makes it so the user can connect a phone to a computer by simply altering the signal making it capable of being used over the internet. Voip plans are available through any Voip provider. Some who offer this plan will also offer free calls, and some will offer a payment plan. Some plans that exist currently, use minute rate phone bills (much like a mobile phone), whereas other plans offering unlimited calls for a set price. Voip is highly functional and if you use it computer to computer you will not get any extra call fees, thats why this program is great for those high volume calls.
