Such a system is called a hosted PBX because it serves all the functions of the old-style PBX systems but is hosted by the VoIP phone system company. These PBX jobs include functions such as call hold, call transfer, 3-way calls, speed dial, call mute, and others. The VoIP phone systems do it all digitally. They can also do services such as keeping call records, routing calls, setting up a queue for callers and then announcing their place in line, and giving management the ability to monitor the phone system easily.

Finally, the VoIP phone systems are resistant to obsolescence. Anytime something new comes about, it is easy for the VoIP Company to make changes to the phone service. The hardware can be updated easily and the entire system can be altered to fit changing times. All in all, VoIP phone systems are the best call center phone systems available now, and look to remain so for years in the future.
