VoIP Phones - Connecting Economically

VoIP Phones - Connecting Economically

by Jack Triston

It is clearly one of the best examples of progress that can be cited in today's date. From the erstwhile era of the conventional analog telephones to the age of mobile phones, to yet another level of advancement with VoIP phones, it is one eventful journey till this stage. And all of it was possible due to our constant hunger for further evolution at every step.

The Internet is the base, on which the functionality of the VoIP phones rest. This is reason why they are also known Internet phones. According to the technology on which these phones work, analog audio signals are fed to be converted into digital data signals, which are later transmitted over the Internet to other compatible phones across the globe.

Three communication standards of transferring voice signals over a network are employed in the process. VoIP phones can function through software phones, analog telephony adapters (ATA) and IP phones to provide users with reliable and cost-effective VoIP solutions. Software phones are simple ways of communicating over the Internet with the help of a computer software and a microphone. ATA converts analog signals to digital signals by connecting itself into your analog telephone, your computer and the Internet connection. IP phones connect themselves to a router or wall jack through an Ethernet connector with the software being provided by the maker.

With VoIP phones, you can get connected to people using similar phones or even any other phones at the most economic of charges you can imagine. Newer phone makers have entered the market to capitalise on the emerging trend and showcase their products.
